Patch 1.0.2 Overview: Campaign & Endgame

The developers have announced a major update, Patch 1.0.2, coming the week after launch. This patch addresses the most significant community feedback regarding campaign difficulty and the structure of the endgame.

New 2 difficulties in Hell Clock update Regular & Veteran

To address feedback about the campaign’s high difficulty for new players, two distinct modes are being introduced at character creation:

  • Regular Mode: A major overhaul of the campaign’s pacing and enemy scaling, designed to be a more accessible and entertaining experience for a wider audience.
  • Veteran Mode: This is the original, challenging balance of the game as it was at launch.

This choice is permanent for each save file. All existing save files will automatically be converted to “Veteran” saves.

Based on overwhelming feedback, the endgame is being restructured to better support players who enjoy long-term character progression (“vertical progression”).

Ascension is no longer the primary endgame. It is being moved into its own separate save file system, repositioned as a niche, “rogue-like” challenge mode for players seeking the ultimate test of skill.

  • The maximum number of save files will be increased from 3 to 6.
  • Existing saves with both Campaign and Ascension progress will be split into two separate files.

This is the new primary endgame path, functioning as a “New Game+” and “New Game++” system where you keep all of your character’s progression, gear, and relics.

  • Full Re-spec is Coming! A full respec option for Constellation points will be added with this patch.
  • More Points: Entering Abyss for the first time grants 4 Constellation points. The 24 new Cursed Shrines in Abyss and Oblivion bring the total available points in the late-endgame to 38.

The developers also gave a sneak peek at a new endgame system coming in 2026 called Endless Nightmares. This will be a “mapping” system where players create their own custom 21-floor dungeons by choosing from randomly generated “Shards of Nightmare,” pushing their builds to the limit up to Tier 16. This system will be guided by a new NPC, the Umbanda spiritual entity Exu Tiriri.
