The Infernal Bell

The Infernal Bell is the endgame version of “The Great Bell of Canudos,” replacing it entirely once you begin an Ascension run. It is a significantly larger and more complex skill tree that offers far more freedom in character progression.

Unlike the campaign bell’s linear path, the Infernal Bell features six different starting points, allowing you to prioritize what your build needs most for each Ascension.

The Infernal Bell skill tree

According to the developers, the Infernal Bell serves two main purposes in the endgame:

  1. Mandatory Progression: There are certain nodes on the Bell that are considered almost mandatory for pushing into higher Hell Levels. You will eventually need to navigate towards these to scale your power effectively. These include nodes that grant:

    • More Reliquary Size
    • Additional Hell Clock Time
    • Extra Skill Levels
  2. Compensatory Progression: The primary strategic use of the Bell is to compensate for whatever your build is lacking due to RNG (random drops) or your choices in the Constellations tree.

While the full tree is vast, some key nodes mentioned by the developers include:

  • +2 Skill Levels: A huge power boost for any build.
  • +30% Conviction Resistance: A massive defensive upgrade.
  • Soul Stone Gain & Gold Gain: “Economy” nodes that help you progress faster over multiple runs.
  • Life Steal: A powerful defensive and offensive option, especially for melee builds.
  • Base Damage / Spell Damage / Melee Damage: Direct damage increases to strengthen your build.
