Relics

Relics are the cornerstone of character progression in Hell Clock. Unlike standard gear, these unique artifacts are designed to define and amplify your abilities, creating powerful synergies that significantly alter your gameplay.

All acquired Relics are managed, upgraded, and equipped in The Reliquary.

All Relics are defined by a combination of the following properties:

  • Rarity Tiers: Relics come in different rarities, including Common, Magic, Rare, Epic, and Legendary.
  • Item Tiers: Relics also have Tiers (Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3). Higher tiers offer greater potential. In the campaign, tiers are tied to acts, but in Ascension, you can find higher-tier relics much earlier.
  • Exalted Relics: The largest (2x2) and often most powerful relics are known as Exalted Relics. They typically have four or more affixes.
  • Affixes: Even relics with the same name can have different randomized stats (e.g., +9 movement speed when affected by Plague), adding significant variety to drops.
  • Shape: Relics come in different shapes and sizes, requiring strategic placement in the Reliquary’s inventory grid.

Unique Relics are build-defining items with powerful, game-changing effects. Player and developer confirmation shows that a separate pool of new and unique relics are added to the game exclusively in the Ascension Endgame.

Banner of Faith

Converts a percentage of Double Knives damage into health (Life Steal). A key item for melee survivability.

Molten Relic

Converts all Repeater skill damage to Fire and adds a chance on hit to launch a grenade.

Death Notary

Causes the Slow Time ability to make enemies “Exposed,” causing them to take +20% increased damage from all sources.

Feather Dagger

A build-defining relic that allows projectiles from the Veil of Quills skill to pierce through enemies.

Righteous Fire

Grants a fiery aura that constantly drains your life to deal significant Fire damage to all nearby enemies.

Bundle of Syringes

Described by players as a “no-brainer” best-in-slot relic for most melee builds, likely providing significant Life Steal or regeneration.

Katinga Hunter

Increases movement speed and melee attack speed on hit with the Reflexes skill, stacking up to five times.

Mark of the Vulture

Causes enemies to explode after reaching 7 stacks of its mark. Synergizes incredibly well with piercing abilities like Veil of Quills.

  • Dungeon Drops: From enemies (especially Elites) and chests.
  • Shop Purchases: From the in-game shop between runs.
  • Targeted Drops: The game often provides relics that are relevant to your equipped skills.
